Party for suspended RCS seniors involved in school prank

RAVENA - The 29 students who spent about three hours plastering a claimed 50,000 Post-it notes throughout the school, then releasing a YouTube video pushed administrators into doing something.

A one day suspension was it.

"I was the one that made the video," said Karin Beswick at a party being held Tuesday afternoon for the 29 suspended students.

School officials called the event unsafe activity and a violation of the code of conduct. So they wrist-slapped the students with a day off.

To which long-time tavern owner Bill Misuraca responded by putting on a picnic party for the kids.

"To punish them for this was just kicking a little sand in their faces," said MIsuraca. "We're doing this to take their minds off it and have a good time today."
