Officials cut ribbon on Albany County Rail Trail | News

County officials gathered to open the first segment of the Albany County Rail Trail this afternoon with a ribbon cutting at the trail entrance by the Town of Bethlehem Veterans Memorial Park on Delaware Avenue in Delmar.
Albany County, Town of Bethlehem, and Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy have developed an innovative partnership to open a 1.9 mile section of the Rail Trail running from the Veterans Memorial Park in Delmar to Fireman’s Park in Slingerlands.
The section will be open for pedestrian use only.
Albany County Executive Mike Breslin, Bethlehem Town Supervisor Sam Messina, Albany County Legislators, Brian Scavo ,Norma Chapman, Jill Knapp, executive director of the MHLC and Seth McKee, land conservation director of Scenic Hudson all attended the ceremony.
